Mens’ Club Membership Information
Welcome to Los Serranos Men’s Golf Club. We are proud to be able to offer you a Full Activity Membership for $155 (Re $5.00 extra, please refer to Benefit #13) which includes a United States Golf Association Index courtesy of the Southern California Golf Association (S.C.G.A.). They conduct all U.S.G.A. course rating activities on both courses, provide a monthly magazine and the ability to play in S.C.G.A. Tournaments which are conducted at private and public golf facilities and resorts.
Full membership also provides the following benefits:
1. Participate in all Men’s Club Tournaments. Tournaments’ information will be posted on the Los Serranos Country Club website at www.losserranoscountryclub.com
2. Sign up for a Standing Tee Time for Saturday or Sunday at $100 per person and pay Green Fee with Cart at $59.00.
3. Reserve starting times 10 days in advance Monday to Sunday. You will need to give your Men’s Club GHIN Number when booking your tee time.
4. Receive Twilight, and Super Twilight rate one half hour early.
5. Receive Six (6) Regular Green Fees Monday to Friday at $10.00 each for you and/or a guest. Cart fees additional.
6. Receive Two (2) free Regular green fee Monday to Friday. Cart fees additional.
7. 10% discount on all regular priced merchandise including Clubs in the Pro Shop.
8. 10% discount on food only in the Club House Coffee Shop.
9. Skins Game on Friday afternoons. Members are Welcome !! Space limited to first 20 players.
10. Every Thursday Senior Skins Game 55 years & older. Members are welcome!! RSVP with the Pro Shop on previous Wednesday.
11. 2-Day Ryder Cup Tournament for qualified participants. Includes Green Fee, Cart, Food, Shirts, Range Balls for both days at no additional cost.
12. Ten (10) Complimentary warm up buckets.
13. No Room charge when booking an event in the Banquet Room
14. 20% Discount on Father’s Day Brunch for your table. Not applicable to Alcoholic Beverages.
A USGA-SCGA Handicap Only Membership is available and provides :
A Membership GHIN Number and the ability to input your scores into the computer
to establish an index. The cost is $55.00.

APPLICATION PROCESS & MEMBERSHIP CARDS:
Enclosed you will find our Membership Application Card for 2013. The deadline to submit your 2013 membership application is December 21, 2012. Please make sure that you complete your application in full and return it with a check made out to Los Serranos Men’s Golf Club or Cash Payment. We request that you PRINT legibly so that you get your membership card and future mailings. Once your 2013 Los Serranos Men’s Club Membership Packet is ready, you will be advised to pick it up from the Pro Shop. It is essential that we have all of your phone numbers and e-mail addresses so that we can send you important reminders and information. Men’s Club membership runs from January 1st, 2013 to December 31st, 2013.
Since the Men’s Club does not have a credit card account, membership dues must be paid by check or cash only. Checks should be made out to Los Serranos Men’s Golf Club.

Information to New Men’s Club Members Regarding Their Handicaps:
Once we receive your signed 2013 membership application with your payment, S.C.G.A will mail the S.C.G.A Membership Card to you. Your Los Serranos Men’s Club Membership Packet will be processed by the Club & you will be advised to pick it up from the Pro Shop. The S.C.G.A. requires a minimum of five scores posted to compute your index. To expedite obtaining your index, these scores should be from Los Serranos Country Club. If you have five scores posted after the 1st of the month, your index will show up on the 15th of the same month. Scores posted after the 15th of the month, index will show up on the 1st of the following month. After 20 scores, you will post adjusted scores according to the Equitable Stroke Control.
Indexes, Handicaps and Cuts:
Eliminating the Confusion

Indexes are provided twice each month on the 1st and 15th from GHIN through SCGA based on the scores a player posts at any given course. These scores are converted to a handicap differential by the following formula: Adjusted gross score minus USGA course rating times 113 divided by the USGA slope rating of the tees played. GHIN uses the lowest ten (10) scores of your last twenty (20) to figure your current index. Only indexes on the monthly report stated in the Tournament Entry flyer is used for tournaments. The index (or combined indexes in partner tournaments) is used to determine the division of flights with equal number of players in each flight. Sometimes all flights play the same set of Tees and sometimes some flights may play Green Tees, Blue Tees while others play White Tees. After it is determined which flight a player (or players) belongs, the Course Handicap Conversion Chart is then used to convert the index into a handicap based on the tees that player will be playing.
Men’s Club Tournament Schedule: Enclosed you will find a tentative schedule of our tournaments for 2013, but please note that these dates and formats are subject to change. Changes in format were made upon recommendations received by the Men’s Club Committee. Full activity members will receive the details of each tournament by e-mail. Most tournaments will start about 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. on Saturday or Sunday. You must have an index number before you can play in a Men’s Club tournament. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to adjust any member’s or guest’s course handicap for any Men’s Club Tournament or Club Championship.
