2007 Mens' Club Membership
Information
Welcome to Los
Serranos Country Club Men's Club. We are proud to be able to
offer you a full activity membership for $125.00, which includes
United States Golf Assocation Index courtesy of the Public Links
Golf Association of Southern California (P.L.G.A.). The
P.L.G.A. also provides Los Serranos with our U.S.G.A. Handicap
Services, and U.S.G.A. computer. They conduct all U.S.G.A.
course rating activities on both courses, provide a quarterly
magazine and the ability to play in P.L.G.A. Tournaments which
are conducted at strictly public golf facilities and resorts. Benefits of Los Serranos
Men's Club: Full membership provides the
above and the following:

Sign up
for a single guaranteed starting time each week-end if

public. . You will need to give your LSCC member
number off of your membership card when booking your tee
time.

Receive
the Mid-Day. Twilight, and Super-Twilight rate one half
hour early.

7. |
Four Sesonal Weekday green fee passes for you or a guest
when you play on a non-holiday. (2 regular and 2
twilight) |

Special member-only discounts in the Pro Shop, and on
private lessons and club fitting. |
A USGA-PLGA Handicap Only
membership is available & provides:

A
membership number and the ability to input your scores
into the computer to establish an index. The cost
is $50.00

If you intend to play in S.C.G.A. tournaments,
a S.C.G.A. card will be available to Los Serranos Men's Club
Members for an additional $40.00. Contact Linda or
Christine in the office for this additional membership
card.
Application
Process and Membership Cards:
On the link
above you
will find our application cards for 2007. The deadline to submit
your 2007 membership application is November 15, 2006. Please
make sure that you complete your application in full and return
with a check made out to Los Serranos Men's Club. We request
that you PRINT legibly so that you get your membership card and
future mailings. We will mail you your new Los Serranos Men's
Club membership card as soon as we process your application. It
is essential that we have all of your phone
numbers and e-mail addresses. This way we can send you
important reminders and information. Men's Club membership
runs from November 1st 2006 to December 31st 2007..
Since the Men's Club does not have a credit
card account, membership dues must be made by check or cash
only. (Checks should be made out to Los Serranos Men's Club.) Anyone who does
not renew their membership by the November deadline will not
appear on the January index report. Any membership application
not received before the 20th of the month cannot be assured of
appearing on the following month's index report.
Guaranteed
Starting Times:
Men's Club members who currently have a
starting time will have first preference for approximately the
same starting time. We must have all renewal applications of
Permanent Starting Time by December 1, 2006. We need this time
to set up our tee time program in the computer for the coming
year. This will also allow us to accommodate members wishing to
obtain a time.
Please be
advised if you have a guaranteed starting time and are not able
to play, you must call the Pro Shop no later than 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday to cancel your time. Anyone who does not cancel and does
not play, will be charged the normal green fee and half the
electric cart rate. Failure to pay the charges will result in
cancellation of your guaranteed starting time. Electric carts
are mandatory for week-end play. Los Serranos Country Club
reserves the right to cancel your guaranteed starting time for
the Country Club's use (approximately four times per
year). Starting times will begin approximately ½ hour earlier
during the spring and summer due to daylight savings time.
Information
to New Members Wishing to Obtain a Guaranteed Starting Time:
Because of the interest all of you have in obtaining a
guaranteed week-end starting time, we have implemented the
following procedures to assign the guaranteed starting times as
they become available:

Fill
out the application for a guaranteed starting time. You
may request a starting time for yourself or for any
number up to a complete foursome. You must indicate the time and the date in which you are
interested: i.e., Saturday, 6-7, Sunday, 7-8,
anytime, etc.

Make
sure to read the entire application and sign the application card. Your
application cannot be processed without your signature
and will be returned to you.

| 3. |
Enclose
a separate check made payable to Los Serranos Country
Club so that we can process your application.
|
| 4. |
Upon
receipt, your name will be placed on a waiting list
until a guaranteed starting time becomes available.
|
| 5. |
When a
starting time becomes available for a foursome and your
group is eligible, you will be invited to play that time
for two consecutive weeks to determine if your group's
pace of play is suitable. This is especially true of
early morning times when the pace of play is quicker. If
your group is unable to keep pace, your group will have
to wait for an opening at a later starting time when the
pace of play is not so fast.

When a
starting time becomes available for a single or twosome
and you and/or your partner are eligible, you will be
invited to join a group for two consecutive weeks to
determine if compatibility exists and can continue
harmoniously. Compatibility implies that the four
members can enjoy a golf experience together with
consideration to playing ability, respect for golf, the
golf course and other golfers. It is assumed that
members who have been granted the privilege of a
guaranteed starting time, should have the ability to
make new friends. If it is determined by the Head Golf
Professional and the Men's Club Advisory Committee, that
a foursome is not compatible under the conditions
described above, then the single member and/or his
partner will wait to be invited to join another
established group when the next opportunity becomes
available.

If Los
Serranos is unable to provide a suitable starting time
for you or your group, your application fee will be
returned.

Information to New Men's Club Members Regarding Their
Handicaps:
From the time
you hand in or mail in your signed new member application with
your payment, it usually takes the Southern California Public
Links Golf Association offices from one to two weeks to mail to us your
index card. After we receive your card we will mail it promptly
to you along with your Los Serranos Country Club membership
card. Your score cards for golf rounds played at Los Serranos
Country Club can only be accepted after you receive your
membership card which shows your membership number. The S.C.P.L.G.A.
require a minimum of five scores
to compute your index. To expedite obtaining your index these
scores should be from Los Serranos Country Club. If you have
five scores recorded before the 20th of the month, you should
then have an index the following month. After 20 scores, you
will post adjusted scores according to the Equitable Stroke
Control.
Indexes, Handicaps and Cuts: Eliminating
the Confusion... by Ron Kramer, Tournament Dir.
Indexes are provided each month from IDC through either SCGA or
PLGA based on the score a player posts at any given course.
This score is converted to a handicap differential by the
following formula: Adjusted gross score minus USGA course
rating times 113 divided by the USGA slope rating for the tees
played. IDC uses the lowest 10 scores of your last 20 to
figure your current index. Only indexes on the monthly
report stated in the Tournament Entry flyer is used for
tournaments. The index (or combined indexes in partner
tournaments) is used to determine the division of flights with
equal number of players in each flight. Sometimes all
flights play the same set of tees and sometimes some flights may
play Blue Tees while others play White Tees. After it is
determined which flight a player (or players) belongs, the
Course Handicap Conversion Chart is then used to convert the
index into a handicap based on the tees that player will be
playing. Men's Club
Tournament Schedule:
Click on the
tournaments link to find a schedule of our tournaments for
2007 but please note that these dates and formats are subject to
change. Changes in format were made upon recommendations
received at our last Men's Club meeting. Full activity members
will receive the details of each tournament by mail. Most
tournaments will not start about 7 to 8 a.m. on Saturday or Sunday.
Your
name and index must appear on the PLGA index
sheet before you can play in a Men's Club tournament. The
Tournament Committee reserves the right to adjust any member's
or guest's course handicap for any Men's Club Tournament or Club
Championship.
